Welcome to
Clarence Valley CrossFit

We believe that the  IMAGINATION should be the thing that limits your life EXPERIENCES, not your body! CrossFit is REAL FITNESS.  No matter what your goals are, we are here to help you achieve them. Climb Everest? Sure! Shovel gravel for your gardening project? Sure! Get up from the couch or have energy to play with your children? We can help you achieve it all.

NO TREADMILL, NO MIRRORS, NO EGOS

The only machine we train is the one you’re using right now, your body!  You won’t just have one workout partner , you’ll have several and they will be with you all the way through a workout – sweating and cheering you on through the whole process.

CVCF IS FOR EVERYONE

All our workouts are designed to be scaled according to your fitness and skill level. Our community is made up of Teachers, students, busy executives, parents,  and tradesman. Our expert coaches will ensure each workout is perfect for you. Your grandmother could and should do CrossFit.

CHILDREN ARE WELCOME

It is so important for our children to see us looking after our health and fitness. Caz and Miz are both parents themselves and they understand some obstacles that can be faced when trying to get to the gym with little people.

That is why CVCF has a dedicated children’s area, where they can see all the action but are kept safe whilst classes are on.

Meet Your Team

Miz Ensbey

L1 - Trainer | Co-Owner

Miz has been working in the health and fitness industry since 2005. During this time she has worked as a Gym Instructor, Personal Trainer, swim coach and PD/ Health trained Primary School Teacher.

When Miz signed up for her first CrossFit class in 2015, she was amazed by the diversity of functional movements, impressive fitness and strength gains and emphasis on connection and community- concepts she had never witnessed in a typical gym environment.

Miz's curiosity and passion lies in the holistic nature of the CrossFit methodology; from improved mental health through connection and movement, to helping people create and grow habits that will set them up for a lifetime of functional independence.

Caz Cappola

L2 - Trainer | Co-Owner

Caz loves living the health and fitness lifestyle, and sharing that with all around her! She has a warm energy and you can tell she is passionate about what she does.

Fitness has always been such a key component of her life and knowing that a healthy body equals a healthy mind. With 12 years as an Officer in both the Australian and New Zealand Armies, then becoming a mum to her little girl and going from a competitive athlete through her own pregnancy journey to now being back in the gym doing all the things she could before. The CrossFit methodology has seamlessly supported her through all aspects of her fitness journey!

Her experience has been in coaching CrossFit for over 9 years, with a Certificate III & IV in Fitness, Precision Nutrition, and is a qualified Pregnancy and Post-Partum Coach. Caz is now enjoying life here in Yamba with her in family, surfing, riding her bike and spending copious amounts of time at the beach.

Alan Nye

L1 - Trainer | Physiotherapist

Alan is passionate about helping people enjoy movement in a sustainable way throughout their life, whether that is in his work as a CrossFit coach, exercise scientist, exercise physiologist, or physiotherapist.

Alan believes that the CrossFit community has such a great opportunity for people to celebrate movement! And everyone's achievements along their fitness journey.

Outside of work Alan can be found being an active dad of 4 boys; running around with his boys playing/coaching soccer, playing tag, or spending time at the beach with the family and their Husky dog Zeus. Alan also has a creative streak, including painting, plays guitar, and makes 3D designer type birthday cakes for his boys.

Justin Putze

L1 - Trainer

Justin was first introduced to CrossFit 5 years ago and immediately fell in love with the sport. Having served 30 years in the New Zealand Army he was no stranger to high intensity fitness training and pushing his body to its limits. Despite three decades of training with the Army, he was never able to attain the level of fitness, that CrossFit has enabled him to achieve. “At 48 years old I am fitter, stronger, and healthier than I have ever been.”

Justin’s passion is in holistic health and wellbeing and believes that everyone needs to take a “move it or lose it” approach to health and fitness. "I want to help people to move without discomfort and to assist them to obtain the level of fitness and strength that enables them to enjoy life with those they love."

It is a privilege to train and coach along side the members of our gym. I am inspired daily by their physical feats. To see members who are 60+ doing toes-to-bar, pull-ups or climbing ropes is truely inspiring. I also love that you leave you ego at the door, you only compete against yourself and after every workout everyone congratulates each other for putting in the hard work.

Phoebe Zietsch

L1 - Trainer

Phoebe has been attending Clarence Valley CrossFit since 2018 and was immediately awed by how inclusive the community was, the variety of movements and WODs and also challenging herself in ways that initially seemed impossible.

She knows and highly values the importance of training for both the health and longevity of the body and also, just as importantly, the mind!

Training and coaching contribute to some of the best hours of her day and CVCF really feels like a second home with love and good vibes and times (whilst lifting heavy stuff!).

When not in the gym she is teaching primary school kids or wrangling her own, Hayley, who she loves bringing to the gym.

She finds it wildly important that she showcases health and fitness as a priority, good movement and being a good role model to her daughter.

Becoming a trainer was something that she aspired to do for a long time, transferring her teaching skills. She is thrilled to be working alongside her friends and the amazing team at CVCF!
